Ah.. the smell of fresh blog..
=D Hello.
Yeshnerz! x3 I'm so happy! I finally got a layout to work on blogger! Sadly, I had to go to the 'old' version for that to happen. I don't know what is up with beta, but it's trippin when it comes to the layout. I don't know what I'm doing wrong there.. -_-
Anyway, I want to especially thank Fir-da-matic for this nice base layout. Also, for the lovely image of the lilies up there, Yag @ Sxc.hu.
I hope to be able to keep this blog up for the duration of my first costume.
Wait, do you know about my first costume?
Well.. before I take the endeavour of actually cosplaying an anime character (I've yet to improve my sewing skills), I want to cosplay an original one! (So I won't be afraid of botching it up. Eh.. eh?)
My original character is called Suzuran, japanese for 'Lily of the Valley'. How I stumbled on this name is pretty ironic. I saw this fabric last year (a dollar a yard, woot!) and bought the whole thing. It reminds me of japanese silk but it is more like.. charmeuse to be truthful.. It reminds one of silk or satin but the quality is way better than that of satin. And plus, it was cheaper than silk. xD So.. I'll say charmeuse to be safe. Anyway...
It's mainly white with a pattern of a black branch with gold and green flowers around it. When I saw it, I thought 'kimono!' and when I looked at it again, 'Lily of the Valley!'
You know what's sad, though? I didn't know what a Lily of the Valley looked like, even though I knew it was the flower for my birthday month. So I first looked up how to say that in japanese and got 'Suzuran', and thus the name of the character.
Still didn't know what it looked like...
Then, (finally... -_-) I looked up a picture of the lily. Thankfully, the fabric resembles exactly that. xD Wouldn't it have been a shame if it looked more like a Tiger Lily? How sad..
Anyway, there you go! Suzuran! If you'd like to know what Suzuran is all about... you'll have to wait. I'm too lazy to retype all that out. -yawn- And plus.. I have school... do you want me to /not/ get an education, hm? >_>
Oh well.. tis enough typing for now. I'm.. too lazy... yet again. Ha! =D Don't you just love me?! <3
